Tame your nerves. Harness your confidence. Unleash your potential.
LSoF teaches a skill—not a magic trick—so individuals can turn natural adrenaline into presence and power when the spotlight hits.
We start with two truths: you’re not broken (performance anxiety is human) and “never-nervous” is a myth; the real win is a healthier relationship with nerves. Instead of hacky tips or rigid breath control, we use mindfulness as practical awareness training: notice the surge, allow it, refocus. Short daily lessons pair concept + drill + deliberate exposure and simple feedback loops that make progress visible. The payoff is reliable calm on demand, stronger delivery, and access to flow—whether you’re speaking, performing, or competing.
`You’re not broken. Performance anxiety is human and common. It’s a built-in survival response, not a personal flaw.
No silver bullet. Aiming to “never feel nervous again” is unrealistic. The win is learning a better relationship with nerves.
Fight or flight at the podium. Suppressing symptoms, overcontrolling posture/breath, or avoiding high-stakes moments backfires.
Tips without a core skill. Random hacks (“drink water,” “just practice more”) don’t address the attention hijack that anxiety causes.
Mindfulness as a skill. Not relaxation or hype—practical awareness training that helps you notice, allow, and refocus under pressure.
Counterintuitive truth. Like a finger trap, the harder you fight anxiety, the tighter it holds. Work with it and it loosens.
From nerves to fuel. We don’t erase adrenaline; we reframe and channel it into presence, clarity, and energy.
Skill, not switch. Short daily lessons combine concept + drill + real-world reps so method becomes automatic.
Deliberate exposure. Stepwise practice in realistic contexts (slides, Q&A, Zoom, interviews) to prove you can perform with nerves present.
Feedback loops. Simple measures (anxiety intensity, focus quality, outcome notes) to make progress visible and repeatable.
Reliable calm and control when it counts.
Stronger delivery: clearer presence, better timing, more connection.
Access to flow: deeper focus and effortlessness once attention stops being hijacked.
Speech, stage, and competition. Same underlying mechanics, different arenas—presentations, auditions, cameras, sales calls, exams, clutch moments.
We don’t promise you’ll never be nervous. We teach you to work with nerves on purpose—so you show up, stay present, and perform when it counts.
Dr. David Lee Fish, Ph.D., helps presenters, artists, and athletes transform anxiety into peak performance through his evidence-based, mindfulness-driven Speak/Perform/Compete with Confidence approach. Having studied under the same Zen master who inspired Jon Kabat-Zinn’s contemporary mindfulness, he combines timeless wisdom with scholarly excellence. The former Catawba College department head and APME co-founder wrote The 5-Day Stage Fright Solution and leads Little School of Fish’s digital programs, mentoring, and in-person training—targeting 10,000+ students annually.
Dr. David Lee Fish helps people transform anxiety into productive energy—whether performing, presenting, leading meetings, or handling high-pressure situations. Having studied directly under the Zen master who inspired Jon Kabat-Zinn’s modern mindfulness movement, David has developed Speak, Perform & Compete with Confidence, an evidence-based methodology combining mindfulness with proven coaching techniques.
As an accomplished educator (he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan) and program innovator, he established Catawba College’s thriving Popular Music and Music Business curriculum and led the Music Department as Chair for seven years. His teaching has produced award-winning graduates now working throughout the music and media industries. He also helped establish the Association for Popular Music Education (APME) as a former president, working to advance modern music education standards.
LSoF represents David’s platform to expand this impact. The organization delivers transformative online learning and coaching that “converts nervousness into mastery,” specifically for presenters, artists, and athletes. The methodology combines mindfulness training with concrete exercises, graduated exposure, and trackable results, enabling participants to experience tangible improvement rapidly. David authored The 5-Day Stage Fright Solution, which established the framework for his current program offerings.
An active performing artist and teacher, David recorded the folk-rock collection “The Last Troubadour” for Renaissance Records, produced by industry veteran David Kershenbaum and featuring legendary bassist Leland Sklar among other elite musicians. His saxophone career includes performances alongside luminaries like Cher, Ella Fitzgerald, Little Richard, and Frank Sinatra—demonstrating his methods emerge from real-world experience, not theory alone.
His core philosophy is straightforward: confidence means skillfully working with nervousness, not eliminating it. David’s approach teaches people to harness rather than resist adrenaline, using systematic training, mindful techniques, and continuous assessment to achieve measurable performance improvements—from enhanced presentations to stronger competitive outcomes.
Currently, the emphasis is on growth and collaboration. LSoF is developing a comprehensive platform for mindfulness-based performance anxiety solutions—expanding through online programs, individual coaching, in-person workshops, team training, and research initiatives. The organization aims to reach 10,000+ participants yearly while forming partnerships with leading institutions across business, arts, and athletics sectors.

To accelerate growth, Little School of Fish intends to seek outside investment once our three equity partners are on board and we’ve shown early traction through micro-pilot course enrollments and engagement.
At that stage, our proof of concept will give us the evidence and momentum needed to approach investors confidently and secure a strong pre-money valuation, ensuring that both our partners and the venture are positioned for long-term success.

We’ve gotten quite a bit of feedback on the images we use at LSoF (like the ones you see here), especially from marketing professionals.
Some see them as fresh, engaging, and cartoon-like in a good way. Others feel the opposite.
But in a landscape dominated by Memphis-style flat vectors and the so-called “Corporate Memphis” look, our visuals at least stand out—just as our color scheme cuts through the sea of blue that floods so many websites.
In the end, our CMO and real-world A/B testing will help shape the final GTM look and feel of LSoF.

| Layer | Tool(s) | Why we chose it / growth path |

| Community / cohort chat | Circle.so | Slack-like UX, API hooks to gate access by course enrollment. |
| Email & CRM | ConvertKit | Visual automations for nurturing; integrates with Stripe, Kajabi, Circle. |

| Automation / glue | Zapier | Connects wait-list forms, email onboarding, course enrollments. |
| AI coaching prototype | OpenAI GPT-4o via custom chatbot | Delivers 24/7 “Coach Fish” support; logs Q&A for course-improvement insights. |
As part of our growth strategy, Little School of Fish plans to run a micro-pilot course to validate demand, refine our funnel, and generate early results attractive to angel investors.
